To Infinity & Beyond

The pace at which a two year old's vocabulary grows each day and their ability to remember things and then use them in the right context, is phenomenal! Coby has a few phrases that he loves to use - "Where are you mummy?", "Are you alright?", "It's all gone" and "Where is it" are all regular questions posed by him. His ability to remember characters is wonderful - he can bring the Toy Story DVD cover to you and point to everyone and proudly tell you who they are - Buzz, Woody, Jessie, Prospector, Rex, Hamm and Potato Head! His Buzz Lightyear doll is his best friend at the moment and even while we were out for our Muddy Puddles walk yesterday, he was shouting at the top of his voice "Buzz, where are you" and as for Buzz's catchphrase, Coby's version is..................."to finty & yond"

Muddy Puddles

One of Coby's favourite characters is Peppa Pig and he has a DVD called Muddy Puddles. So, today I thought we should take him out to splash in some muddy puddles of his own - and he didn't let us down....

Jungle Mania

Jungle Mania is a fabulous indoor adventure playground at Gosling Sports Park in Welwyn. Teresa and I took Coby there today and had such fun - Coby was able to navigate his own way around and was happy taking several trips on the slides, one of which is a 630 degree spiral slide that goes very dark before you exit at the bottom, Coby was unfazed and it was myself and Teresa that found ourselves screaming with laughter. I signed Coby up for a year long toddler membership and I have the feeling it will be a regular outing for us....

The Gang's All Here

On Sunday 23rd December, we all went along to the Tumble Tent to have a belated celebration for Olly's 2nd birthday. He has been living in the South of France with his mummy and daddy and they were home for Christmas, so we were all dying to see them...

PC Teplet

In honour of Uncle Mark, Coby greeted him today wearing his policeman's helmet. Mark was suitably impressed and rewarded Coby with some lovely christmas presents.

Festive Friends

Maddy invited us over for a pre-christmas lunch today. She made her famous sausage rolls and some beautiful butternut squash soup washed down with mulled wine. Coby took a shine to Louis' Bob the Builder bike and, as you can imagine, wherever Coby goes, Louis tends to follow and vice versa. Alicia was there too with Sammy and not forgetting Jelly the cat.

We've just spent a magnificent weekend in the Dutch capital of Amsterdam for our wedding anniversary. Our good friends, David and Purdy joined us for much food and sight seeing, however, we are very glad to be home as we've missed Coby soooooooooooooooo much!. He has been in the capable hands of nanna and grandad in Lincolnshire and we get to see him tomorrow!!

HAPPY HANUKKAH

Hanukkah is an 8 day Jewish holiday also known as the Festival of Light and today we got to light all of the candles on the hanukiah. We had dinner at grandma Wendy's as she has just returned from her trip to the US and had a huge bundle of presents for Coby. We ate salt beef and potato latkes followed by doughnuts, yummy, yummy. And Coby was given his first dreidel, a spinning top traditionally played with during this holiday.

Happy Hanukkah!

Coby the Snowman

So, we're approaching the final countdown to Christmas - 14 days now! Coby had double party duties today, first with his end of term party at Music Train and then it was on to the Tiggy's Christmas Party at nursery. Two visits from Santa and a ton of sausage rolls and cakes later, Coby now lies tucked up in bed, worn out from the day's activities....

A Grand Weekend

Coby has been staying with nanny and grandad in Lincolnshire since last Thursday! It's the longest period of time that we've been without him and it wasn't easy, although it has been a welcome break for us with time to relax and a lovely treat for mum and dad. Unfortunately mum has spent the last couple of nights in hospital. She had a chest and sinus infection and because she is between chemotherapy threatments, her platelets are low, so it was best that the hospital kept her monitored. Hopefully she'll be home today!

Over the weekend, they took Coby out and about including a trip to see Santa...!

Somebody's hiding!
