Teresa and Ceri celebrated their birthdays today. I headed over to Morden where Teresa is living (19 stops on the Northern Line from Kings Cross might I add!) and joined them all for a glass of bubbly before heading to Revolution in Clapham Junction.

Hum Fum
Coby marched up to me recently shouting HUM FUM and smiling. His arms outstretched for a cuddle. So out my arms went as he continued to shout HUM FUM. He suddenly grabbed my thumbs tight and started climbing my body. I think in his way he was saying climb thumb in a funny cheeky way. So now the words HUM FUM can be regularly heard round the house and it is such a great way for us to bond. We play together loads, tickle and wrestle loads and he loves it when I spin him round and plop him on the couch cushions...he just can't get enough of it. And I can't get enough of him...

The Reward Chart
Coby is so cute, he's so funny, he's so delightful, he's so good....woah, woah, woah....
Let me tell you he is also very trying, fiesty, demanding, disrespectful (nipping that one in the bud straight away) and very frustrating. He is a typical toddler though I guess and like most typical toddlers, a reward chart has been installed into his routine and already it is working quite well.
There are stickers for eating meals, brushing teeth, washing, getting dressed, helping to tidy and bonus stickers (Piston Cups as Coby calls them because they are in the shape of
trophies).

Conversations With Coby
On the phone...
MUMMY: "Hi Coby"
COBY: "Hello, is that Coby's mummy?"
MUMMY: "Yes, darling, how are you?"
COBY: "I'm very, very angry!"
MUMMY: "Oh, Why is that?"
COBY: "Cause you ruined my day yesterday!"
MUMMY: "What have I done?"
COBY: "You left my toys at home"
MUMMY: "No I didn't - don't be silly"
COBY: "Yes, you left them and put them in the bin"
MUMMY: "Coby, what are you talking about?"
COBY: "Bye mummy"
Waking up in the morning in bed with me...
Coby tries to heave himself up from the bed several times
"Oh, I just can't do it!"
"Well, just relax and sleep a bit more"
"Mummy, do you know what my problem is?"
"No Coby, tell me"
"I'm just too heavy, I think"
PRICELESS
