Gorgeous Goddaughter!

Teresa recently came to stay with her beautiful daughter, Amber. Coby won Amber's heart! She seemed mesmerised by him and followed his every move. We took them to the Waffle House in St Albans on Saturday and on Sunday, more family and friends joined us for afternoon tea at the house. It was lovely!

George's Marvellous Medicine

Coby and I enjoyed a trip to the theatre today to see a fantastic version of 'George's Marvellous Medicine'. We've read the book to Coby, so he was very familiar with the story. The show was at the Palace Theatre in Watford and featured some tremendous talent, particularly Erika Poole, who played grandma! You really DID hate her!

I'm a big fan of Roald Dahl and have also read The Twits to Coby and he's seen The BFG, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda and Fantastic Mr Fox. We recently had great fun learning Gobblefunk - a strange language created by Roald Dahl. Coby laughed his head off at splatch-winkle (rushing around: in a hurry), hornswoggler (a very dangerous creature), whoopsy-splunkers (used to describe something absolutely marvellous) and, our personal favourite, vermicious knid (vicious beasts who can fool you by changing shape). Quite rightly, the author once said "You can write about anything for children as long as you've got humour".

Lovely Day for a Picnic

Bluebells in abundance, Coby and I joined Lola and Olly for a picnic in Hitch Wood today. Along with Michaela, Paula, Vicki, baby Sam and new addition, Baby Megan (it was her first time among the bluebells) we settled down for sandwiches, coffee, cakes and a few attempts at Gator Golf!

London Aquarium

We took a drive into London today with our friend Andrew to peruse the sea life at the London Aquarium. We had a lovely day and took a stroll along the south bank, had lunch and gave Coby a good run around in the playground...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDAD!

Today is grandad's birthday - hoorah! One more year until the BIG one...ssshhh...we won't give away which big one. Grandad recently drove all the way down from Lincolnshire, three whole hours, to look after Coby for the night. He's our hero!

Boys & Planes

One of our favourite places to visit is the Royal Air Force Museum in Hendon. Its close to home, free to go in and has the best display of air crafts and interactive activities for the kids. We went along one Sunday morning with Jacob and Simone....
