Birthday Gang

Who's That Hiding Under There??

"Hide, Hide!"

Coby's favourite hiding place, under the kitchen table, except on this occasion I caught him out

Proud As Punch

On Monday Coby had his 2 year development check at the health centre. He now weighs 28lbs (about 2 stone) and is 82cm tall!! The health visitor was very impressed with his skills and development and said he was above average! Hoorah!

And even better was parents evening at his nursery last night. We were told that Coby is delightful to have around, very sociable and loving and his communication skills are very strong. His nickname at nursery is Happy Chappie! Al and I had no idea that the nursery keep an observation record for each child's session - we were presented with a folder full of Coby's. Here are some extracts:

Observation: Coby holds 2 magnetic bricks together which he has made into a car. he walks across the room and says 'car'. Coby then picks up a Bill & Ben toy and says 'Ben'. He runs over to a member of staff (Vicky) and shouts 'Icky, Icky' and then gives her a cuddle saying 'awww'. He then sits and says 'Bill, Ben' over and over. Coby runs over to the abacus and begins pushing the beads around the wire.

Evaluation: Coby's vocal and language skills are coming along very well. He is very chatty with the adults. Coby is very good at expressing his feelings and is very special to others. Keep encourging this and he will develop further. Coby is confident in all he does and he is able to make friendships with other children.

These reports are held at the nursery and presented to Ofsted inspectors as well as samples of each child's work. We were very impressed. We love his nursery and hope he can stay there unitl he starts primary school. Best of all, Coby is happy there and they are disappointed that he only comes one day a week!

Drum Roll Please...

Thank you Justin & Stacey for Coby's drum kit -
it's been moved to the conservatory for the acoustics!

Party Time

The Angel's Reply in Hitchin is one of our favourite places so we decided to head there on Saturday to celebrate the kids birthdays. Coby was joined by Louis (1st Nov), Jasmine, (2oth) and Lola (25th) and the four of them had a fun time in the play area with Uncle Mark. Grandma Wendy baked a beautiful cake - a train consisting of an engine and several carriages covered in icing and dolly mixtures! The kids played pass the parcel and received goodie bags too. Can you guess who had the most fun?....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY COBY!

Can you believe Coby is 2 years old today?? We certainly can't, but the onset of those much talked about 'Terrible Two's' is confirmation enough that Coby is leaving behind those baby months and entering into toddlerhood. His vocabulary is really coming along now as is his desire to have everything he wants and do everything himself. Tantrums are in abundance and the word 'NO' can be heard quite frequently from his little lips.

We kicked off Coby's birthday with a grand card and present opening. Thank you to everyone for your generous gifts - Coby truly was spoilt beyond belief. Grandma Wendy arrived around lunch time with a Thomas the Tank Engine train set which I had tremendous fun putting together. Coby loved it and stroked the battery operated trains as they whizzed around the track. After a lovely lunch at Cafe Rouge in Hitchin, we went home to wait the arrival of Uncle Martin and Great Aunt June who came over especially to see Coby.

Coby opens the first of his sack load of cards!

And then came presents!

Bounce, Bounce, Bounce

This video is a little dark, but you can just make out Coby and his friend Alicia having fun with an exercise ball. Coby loves visiting Alicia because she has loads of fabulous toys and he always gets a Smoothie from Alicia's mum, Ang. Now a professional thrower of tantrums, Coby often displays one of his over dramatised fits of frustration upon leaving Alicia's house and when I ask if he wants to go home, I receive a resounding and very firm "NO!!"

CAPTION COMPETITION

This photo prompted me to bring back the caption competition. It was taken last Wednesday morning when we took Coby for breakfast. He happily munched through bacon, sausage, egg and a hash brown all washed down with a nice cup of tea.

The best suggestion will receive a box of chocolates....yum, yum, how can you resist?

"????????"

A Picture of Domesticity

Coby whiled away a good half an hour in Mothercare World today. He was completely pre-occupied in the Early Learning Centre section and I was very pleased to note his domestic skills coming along...

Bang! Bang!

Tonight we attended our local fireworks display, but as much as Coby's excitement made us smile with delight, he actually got very scared when all the bangs and pops started. The fireworks were spectacular and I love the smell that lingers in the air afterwards, especially when mixed with the chilly November night. We really appreciated home when we arrived back.

I'm ready for the fireworks!

Where is everybody?

Coby & Louis Get the Giggles

Coby's Discovery

"Look what I found!"

"Ready, steady, GO!"

We bought Coby a lovely bike for his birthday and hid it in the garage. However, last week while I was loading the recycling into the car, Coby wandered into the garage and discovered his secret present poking out from under my clever bin bag disguise (clearly not so clever). As soon as he saw it there were 'oohs' and ahhs' and 'bike! want it'. Of course I relented and let him have a quick ride up and down the road. The bike is covered in Winnie the Pooh pictures which Coby adores and during a trip to the shops on Wednesday, he kept hopping off to check the characters were still there - very cute. He also had Woody from Toy Story nestled in the trailer at the back.

Lights On

Coby makes us laugh every day with his new words and expressions. If you ask him which DVD he wants to watch or what he would like to eat he replies "how about....erm...". And if he wants to hide in the kitchen cupboard (above) he shouts "lights on" so he's not hiding in complete darkness. He copies almost everything we say and often calls out "bye darling" because most of us say it to him.

Apologies

Hi everyone

Many apologies for the severe lack of activity on Teplet recently. The laptop, which I use all the time for updating and loading photos, has been out of action. And I rarely have time to use the computer upstairs for various reasons including the fact that Al works in the office all day and by the time evening comes around, I'm busy feeding, bathing, putting Coby to bed, doing homework, jogging, washing or trying to relax. Anyway, the laptop should be back in action this weekend (please, please, please) and I'll make sure I back date all our photos and news.

Lots of love

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOUIS

Coby is fast approaching his 2nd birthday! Two weeks to go until the big day. In the meantime, Louis was the first of Coby's pals to celebrate turning two and popped round yesterday so we could wish him happy birthday...
