Wall-E

We took Coby to see Wall-E this morning and thought it was fantastic!! Coby loved him and his friend Eve and got quite upset when something bad happened to either one of them. He almost sat through to the end this time....

Whipsnade Zoo

Today we went to Whipsnade Zoo with our pals Greg and Jacob. The boys had a riot and drove us to both mental and physical exhaustion! The highlight for the boys, among all of the animals and, lets face it, we're talking tigers, elephants, wolves, animals you don't see every day, was rolling down a hill in the picnic area. We could have left them there all day and they would have been delighted!

Happy Birthday Twins

Today is the 1st birthday of our friends Archie and Rafferty - the cutest identical twins in the world, in my opinion. They were born minutes apart either side of midnight, so they actually have different birthdays, which I think is pretty cool...

Space Dwarf

Al took Coby into London today to the Science Museum and they had a fabulous day together. At one point, between trains, Al was assisted up some stairs with Coby's buggy by a rather lovely gentleman - author and children's laureate, Michael Rosen! He wrote one of Coby's favourite books, 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt.' Al thought this was a real coup and Coby was mesmerised as Michael recited an extract from one of his books, 'Little Rabbit Foo Foo.'

At the museum, Al and Coby went to the Imax and watched, through their 3D glasses, a film about the space station. Coby came home with the coolest space rocket and some die-cast space shuttles. Al also purchased some space strawberries - yuk!!!!!!

Al has the piccies on his mobile phone, so as soon as we're able to, we'll get them posted on here. At the end of a long day, the boys met me from work in the local cafe where Coby entertained some new friends, Nick and Jackie. They wanted to look at Coby's blog, so "hello guys" if you're reading!

Countdown Begins

On Sunday 24th August, London will become the official host city for the 2012 Olympic games! We've added a countdown to the Olympics here on Teplet and we'll be checking out the progress of the preparations every now and again. In the meantime, here is the proud moment when London was revealed as the next Olympic host

A Series of Fortunate Events

Coby has had a very enjoyable couple of days at nursery this week. And he should be making the most of his remaining time in Nutkins as he is moving up to pre-school in September! A little earlier than expected because obviously he isn't three until November, but four places are available and Coby is one of the oldest, so up he goes with his friends Nathan, Hattie, Finlay and Charlotte. On Friday he and his pals took a trip to the local library for story time. His key worker told me they all looked cute in their flourescent jackets as they toddled hand in hand across the road.

On Saturday morning I took Coby to the cinema to see The Fox & the Child. It was a beautiful film and Coby sat still for at least half of it, munching popcorn and asking questions. He informed Lola and Louis, who joined us too, that the film was about a fox and a child and that it was a bit scary! At one point, Louis announced he needed a wee wee and so Lola and Coby decided they all needed one too. We all breezed very quickly up the isle hand in hand, but we think Lola and Coby were just following a trend as our toilet break resulted in nothing! This happened two more times and eventually Coby and Louis decided to sit right at the bottom of the screen and dance around in the space there with Lola looking on and saying "they are naughty mummy". As the lights went up, we all glanced at the carpet of popcorn beneath us and chuckled. For £1.50 per child and free for the accompanying adult, we thought it was a pretty good deal!

And we're off to the cinema...

Coby saw the poster for Madagascar 2
and commented "that looks good"

"I want sweets!"

Saturday afternoon and Coby was off to his friend Lilian's 3rd birthday party at the leisure centre. There was a bouncy castle and trampoline and Coby caught up with some of his pals from nursery, Nathan, Charlotte, Oliver and of course the birthday girl! The food looked delicious and Pass the Parcel was a big success with every child receiving a small gift. After such an eventful day, Coby began to wilt and as tiredness gripped him, grumpiness also took hold, but he did well to last from 6.45am to 5.15pm without stopping!

Mac & Me

I was recently on a course in London's Picadilly and when it finished early, I decided to take a stroll to Hamley's toy store on Coby's behalf. I headed straight for the lego and came away with Mac and Lightning McQueen because Coby loves them. Sure enough, he hasn't stopped playing with them and they even came with us to nanny and grandad's house recently. When the lego bits come apart, Coby insists on fixing them himself and gets quite frustrated if you try to help!

Coby Knows Clifford

On a recent trip to a certain supermarket, Coby kept shouting "I want Clifford" and I wasn't entirely clear about what he wanted. It wasn't until we were on our way out the store, before he pointed and shouted "there's Clifford mummy - the big red dog". Oh I see.................

Fruit Picking

"I spy with my little eye, something beginning with S....."

"They're down here somewhere"

"Ah ha! Could this be what I'm looking for?"

"Mmmm, ripe, juicy strawberries"
