The Nativity Part 1

My little Coby performed in his very first nativity recently. He had to say a few lines, which he did loud and proud and during the Christmas songs, Coby's voice can be heard above the rest as, in true Coby style, he vied to be centre of attention! His friend, Presley, was a red nosed reindeer and can be seen looking slightly despondent - very funny. The concert combined a graduation for some of Coby's pals moving up to primary school in January, so we say goodbye to twins Aaron and Raya who Coby has enjoyed spending time with since he started at nursery back in 2006. Unfortunately, I had to work and missed it, but Al captured the whole thing on video...Coby is the second King to the left

The Nativity Part 2

Congratulations!

I'm very happy to announce that my best friend from the age of five (so we're talking 30 years), Louise, is expecting her first baby. She and her husband Paul were married in July but have been together for 18 years - we all took our GCSE's together - ahhhh!!

Congratulations Louise & Paul and all the best for 2010!

Welcome to the Family

What an exciting day! We drove over to Wimbledon to visit Teresa and Adam and to meet the latest addition to our family - Amber Lily! She was as tiny and cute as we imagined her to be and Teresa filled us in on the details of the birth - its a long story!

Needless to say, Teresa is pretty worn out, so Adam cooked us a lovely dinner of Shepherds Pie and vegetables. We ALL had seconds it was so scrummy. Coby enjoyed cuddles with Amber and we took her a Christmas Bauble with her name and date of birth on.

Welcome to the family, Amber. You're gonna love us and we're gonna love you so much!

Confident Coby

Having cursed myself for getting out of the habit of taking Coby swimming, we're getting back into the habit and he doesn't seem too fazed by it. I expected tears and tantrums the first time, but Coby amazed me by lifting his legs off the ground and kicking and splashing. He was wearing his ring and arm bands, but thats cool as its all about building his confidence in the water at the moment. He even tried putting his face in the water but decided he really didn't like that! When he was a baby, I took him to Aqua Splash and I have signed him up for swimming lessons to begin next year, hopefully, as the waiting list is HUGE! In the meantime, we'll just have fun.

The Sleepover

Friday the 13th! Not a good date for the superstitious, but for Coby it meant a sleepover at Louis' house and a fabulous meal for Al and I cooked by the Queen of the Kitchen, Maddy. She cooked us beef in a pepper sauce with roast potatoes and veg followed by a chocolate mousse. The boys were very well behaved although Coby did slip into our bed during the night for cuddles - how can you refuse?

Baby in Waiting

Today we visited auntie Teresa in Wimbledon and our timing was perfect - the pram and travel seat system arrived while we were there and mummy and Teresa spent a good couple of hours figuring it out. Teresa's baby girl is due in 33 days and we're all very excited. Despite her condition, she managed to run down the stairs (she got a good telling off from me for doing that), present Coby with his birthday AND christmas presents and cook us a fabulous lunch and tea. We love you auntie T and we're counting the days now with you...

Bananas About Ben

Ben Tennyson is a boy who, with the help of a special watch called The Omnitrix, can transform himself into various alien forms. Coby is slightly obsessed and told me yesterday that "Ben 10 and Scooby Doo are my favourite characters". We would never have guessed! For several months now we've had the birthday wish list at least once a day - "I want Scooby Doo Stretch, Scooby Doo Hide & Seek, Scooby Doo Mansion playset, Ben 10 alien characters, Ben 10 dressing up costume, Ben 10 this, Ben 10 that"

In addition, Coby has now been introduced to the movie E.T. and really likes it, even though we receive a barrage of questions throughout...."what is the alien called? why is he called E.T.? why are they looking for him? what do the scientists want to do to him?Can you believe the film is 27 years old now? (sorry that was my question).

Happy Birthday Everyone!

The annual joint birthday celebrations of young Coby, Louis, Lola, Jasmine & Olly was another success! This year the venue was The Grove in Barton le clay and Vicki organised a splendid cake and the kids swapped their 'Secret Santa' gifts. I missed it due to work, but Al had the camera shoved at him with strict instructions to capture some lovely moments...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOUIS!

A fabulous time was had today at Louis' fourth birthday party. Maddy made her famous sausage rolls with pear and the kids also enjoyed pizza, salad and cakes galore, while the adults tucked into delicious pumpkin soup. There was face painting, musical chairs, musical bumps, Pass the Parcel and a pinata. Coby was delighted to find a pack of Ben 10 cards when he was caught out on Pass the Parcel. We had a super, super time and huge thanks to Maddy & Justin for being such wonderful hosts!
