What A Beautiful Day!

We had a grand day out in London yesterday, exhausting too, but very memorable. We headed to Covent Garden and mooched around, lunched in the main square and watched Coby chase the pigeons. The sun was out and glorious but we wanted to show Coby the London Transport Museum. He enjoyed going on the buses and collecting stamps on the trail and we marvelled at how far London's transport system has come since the 1800's. I did prefer the older trams and trains to our modern day ones. A simple video showed the growth of the Underground since 1890 and small scale models showed how engineers created the tunnels.

We then treated ourselves to some candy floss while Coby wore himself out further on a trampoline. Then we walked up to the Duchess Theatre on Catharine Street to see the final performance of 'We're Going On A Bear hunt', an adaptation of Michael Rosen's famous book for children (We're going on a bear hunt, we're going to catch a big one, what a beautiful day, we're not scared). Coby was mesmerised and, quite honestly, so were the parents. It was very imaginative and well done and we were particularly giggly when the cast fired water at the audience. This all bought us nicely to tea time so we treated Coby to his favourite bangers and mash at Sophie's Steak House before heading back home on the train - phew!
