Great Reads

The joys of working in a book shop! I bought home some more gems for Coby this week...

The Story of the Little Mole who knew it was None of his Business
by Werner Holzwarth

Room on the Broom
by Julia Donaldson

Stick Man
by Julia Donaldson

We are Wearing out the Naughty Step
by Mick Inkpen

The winner is The Mole who knew it was None of his Business. Someone does a poo on his head and he wants to track down the villain - hilarious!

Frosty the Fireman

A few weeks ago, Coby was due to take part in the pre-school graduation concert at his nursery. Between being informed of my admission to hospital and heading back with my hospital bag, I took an hour or so in between to catch him in action....however, Al was all poised with the camera to capture Coby in his role as a fireman, and nerves got the better of him...he decided to stay tucked up by the wall and hid behind his fireman's hat...

Coby will be graduating next year, but in the meantime we say goodbye to his friends Nathan and Aiden who start school in September.

More Cobyisms

Tonight, I was telling Coby about auntie Lorraine's episode with a fox who sneaked into her porch and stole one of her shoes. Coby thought it was very funny, but then quite seriously said "I'm going to find that fox, mummy. I'm going to find it and kill it, kill it dead! I'm going to kill it with my secret Kung Fu Panda skills!"

Scooby Doo

The little fella has gone Scooby Doo crazy recently. No more 'In the Night Garden' (thank you, thank you), Peppa Pig, Wonder Pets or Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! He is advancing onto the likes of zombies and haunted houses and were-wolves and monsters!

Yikes, like, we're outta here!

Play Pals

Coby with Jacob

Lola, Coby & Ollie

Mr Bump

In typical toddler style, Coby has been getting into a few scrapes recently. He fell and knocked his head in granny's kitchen a couple of weeks ago. We take absolutely no chances with head injuries, so off we went to A&E. It was a Sunday evening and we didn't have to wait too long before Coby was assessed. He took some convincing before the doctor could apply glue to his little cut, but he kept the staff entertained in the meantime. Then, on the way back to the car, he fell over and grazed his hands! He doesn't miss a trick though and plays on us anxious parents - "I need a treat mummy, don't I?" "Will you cuddle me please daddy?"

Don't be fooled by this one!

Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spiderman

How long do you think the painted face lasted before he came up to mummy and decided to wipe it on her pretty new top?

A Hero Comes Along

We had a lovely day out in Cambridge today, meeting up with Suzanne and her 'any day now' baby bump. We had refreshments at Clown's Cafe and Su told us all about her preparations for the arrival of 'Hero', the nickname she and partner Neale have for baby!

Happy Birthday Mummy!

I had a super birthday today! Coby & Al spoiled me silly with chocolates, flowers, books and a lovely dinner at Zinco's in the evening. Coby even wore his shirt and tie for me!

Baby News

Congratulations to Teresa and Adam who are expecting a baby in December!

We saw the DVD and 12 week scan pictures on Friday and baby looks lively. Unfortunately, Adam is still away at sea with the Royal Marines, but should be home in time for their wedding in September, well we hope so, he is pretty integral to the whole ceremony!

Coby Takes Flight

The greatest thing to watch is Coby and Al having their wrestle time or jumping all over each other, or tickling each other, or generally laughing and playing. Coby loves jumping at the moment and he particularly loves being Buzz Lightyear and shouting 'To Infinity...and Beyond'...

Here I go - watch me mummy

Get ready daddy - incoming

I mean it - better get ready!

To infinity and beyond!!!

A safe landing

A Helping Hand

Nanny and grandad came to the rescue this weekend and helped out after I came home from hospital. They were wonderful and took good care of me and Coby. Grandad spent a good half hour in the garden on Saturday inflating this wonderful activity centre for Coby which he absolutely loved...

Thanks mum and dad for a lovely few days - you are wonderful!

Mummy's Drama

I won't go into great detail about my recent surgery shenanigans, but I will say that I am recovering and resting well at home with my little boy and enjoying him more than ever. Having spent a total of eight nights in hospital, it has been an odd couple of weeks. With drains and cannulas and lots of medication, it feels wonderful to get back to normality.

Thank you to all those who sent messages and cards, they were warmly received and kept my spirits up tremendously - thank you!
